INTERLABORATORY TESTS

Every year, CERISIE offers the opportunity to participate in two cycles of Interlaboratory Tests, cycles of tests carried out in different laboratories in order to verify the correspondence between the different measurements carried out according to the criteria of current legislation.

Each cycle includes several laboratory tests on raw compounds (viscosity, vulcanograph tests) and vulcanized compounds (density, hardness, traction and compression set).

Inevitably, every type of measurement is characterized by a certain imprecision (which can be assessed by verifying repeatability and reproducibility), the values of which can be contained within narrow limits as long as the instruments, in addition to complying with the standards, are regularly calibrated.

CERISIE organizes two cycles of Interlaboratory Tests: the first cycle is organized in May, with registrations open until the end of April; the II Cycle is organized in November, with registrations until the end of October.

The reliability of the measurements is important for those who design and produce the mixtures themselves, but it can take on greater importance in the relations between producers and users, when the responsibilities for the progress of a process or the compliance of a finished product with the technical specifications can be attributed to the non-compliance of the mixtures with the tolerances of certain characteristics defined in the contract.

Linking your needs to reliable measures provides you with an awareness of what you need to demand from the supplier or what you can assure your customer. The reliability of the measurements makes it possible to avoid disputes over measured values that can be attributed to a lack of reproducibility of the measurements performed in different laboratories rather than depending on any quality deficiencies.
